WVU’s Recker Continues on to NCAA Championships at Zone A Diving Meet

After three days of competition, WVU has concluded their participation in the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, at the Rutgers Aquatics Center in Piscataway, New Jersey.  Read more WVU’s Recker Continues on to NCAA Championships at Zone A Diving Meet.

The Mountaineers finished-off strong with many notable performances, most notably from sophomore, Owen Recker.  

Day 2 Highlights: Men’s 3-Meter Springboard 

On day 2 of competition, Recker performed impressively in the men’s 3-meter springboard event, advancing to the finals. In the finals, Recker secured a 12th place position, with a combined score of 661.60. Due to this performance, Recker showed strong potential to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Day 3 Highlights: Men’s Platform Diving 

Recker continued to perform strongly on day 3 of competition in the platform diving event. With a total of 610.90, Recker finished in 6th place. Not only did this performance by Recker showcase that he is versatile in his events, but it also secured his entry into the 2025 Swimming and Diving Championships. Recker will go on to represent WVU at the national level, marking tremendous achievement for his career. 

Women’s Platform Diving 

Abigail Sullivan, junior, also performed well in the platform diving event. With a score of 427.85, Sullivan finished in 11th place. Although Sullivan did not qualify for the NCAA Championships, she was able to showcase her potential for the upcoming seasons.  

Looking Ahead 

With Recker’s advancements into the 2025 NCAA Championships, the Mountaineer community will anticipate his performance at a national level.
