West Virginia Women’s Tennis Club suffered another heartbreaking defeat in the finale to their Arizona roadtrip as they fell to the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson Sunday afternoon by a score of 4-0, the exact same margin of defeat they suffered against Arizona State just two days ago. Arizona took an early advantage by securing the doubles point for a 1-0 lead.
West Virginia battled in the singles matches but were unable to withstand the pressure from the Wildcats. Arizona sealed their victory by defeating WVU senior Mille Haagensen in the No. 1 spot by decisions of 6-2, 6-2.

Graduate student Julie Bousseau lost in the No. 2 seed match by decisions of 6-1, 6-2. Freshman Laura Villanueva Morillo lost in the No. 4 seed match by 6-2, 6-2 decisions.
West Virginia currently sits at number 15 in the Big 12 Conference, having an overall record of 6-11 and are still winless (0-6) in Big 12 competition. Today’s loss against Arizona marks West Virginia’s seventh straight defeat going all the way back to February 23 when they were defeated by Marshall in Morgantown.
