WVU Secures Victory Over Penn and a Season-High Vault Score

During their first meet of the weekend, WVU secures the victory over Penn with a final score of 196.00, to Penn’s 195.625. Rotation 1 – Bars 

WVU started the meet with uneven bars, falling slightly behind Penn with a score of 48.725. Amber Lowe performed impressively, with a score of 9.85. Macy closed the rotation with a 9.725. 

Rotation 2 – Vault  

Achieving a 49.125, WVU receives their new season-high score on vault. Starting the event with Brooke, she scored a 9.775, followed by a 9.8 from Taylor to achieve her CAREER-BEST! 

To follow, Smith scored a 9.725 and Carlee tallied a 9.775. 

With BACK-TO-BACK career highs, DiCello (9.875) and Rice (9.9) wrapped up the vault rotation.

Rotation 3: Floor Exercise 

WVU shined on floor, earning a score of 49.175. Smith scored a 9.825, while Leigh finished things off with an almost perfect score (9.9). 

Rotation 4: Balance Beam 

With consistency throughout balance beam, WVU was able to secure a strong advantage over Penn. DiCello started the event strong, with a career-high matching 9.925. Following DiCello’s impressive performance, Webster and Nelson scored 9.8’s.  

Cue County Roads – What’s Next? 

WVU comes out on top with a final score of 196.00 to Penn’s score of 195.625. This Sunday, March 16th, 2025, WVU will take on Ohio State. The meet will be held in Columbus, Ohio, at 2p.m. at the Covelli Center.
