West Virginia Men’s Basketball has signed six new players to its roster this week. The list of newly added players includes Jackson Fields, Honor Huff, Brenen Lorient, Harlan Obioha, DJ Thomas, and Jasper Floyd. Read more: WVU Men’s Basketball Signs Six New Players
Jackson Fields
Fields is a 6-foot-8, 210-pound senior forward from Missouri City, Texas. Fields has played the last three seasons at Troy. Last season Fields started 33 of 34 games and averaged 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Fields’s shooting percentage last season was 48.7% from the field and 72.1% from the free throw line. Fields led Troy to the Sun Belt Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
As a sophomore, Fields started 27 of 28 games and averaged 22.9 minutes per game. Throughout the season, Fields averaged 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 52.7% in two-point attempts.
As a freshman, Fields played in all 33 games as he scored a season-high ten points against Coastal Carolina and recorded a season-high seven rebounds against Merrimack.

Honor Huff
Huff is a 5-foot-10, 168-pound senior guard from Brooklyn, New York, playing the last two seasons at Chattanooga. Last season, Huff led the nation by recording 131 3-point field goals made while shooting 41.6% from 3. Huff earned All-Southern Conference Team Honors as he led Chattanooga to an NIT title, averaging 15.2 points per game in 36.5 minutes per game, shooting 42.4% from the field and 82.0% from the free throw line.
In the 2023-24 season, Huff earned All-Southern Conference second team honors and NABC Division I All-District Team. Huff started all 33 games, averaging a team-high 34.4 minutes per game. For the season, Huff averaged 17.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 steals, shooting 43.4% from the field and 82.8% from the free throw line.
Huff sat out of the 2022-23 season due to Southern Conference intra-conference transfer rules.
In his freshman season, Huff attended VMI and was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team. He appeared in all 32 games with 18 starts, finishing third on the team and second among all freshman in the Southern Conference with 10 points per game average. Huff shot 44% from the floor and 87.5% from the free throw line.

Brenen Lorient
Lorient is a 6-foot-9, 215-pound senior forward from Ocla, Florida. Last season, Lorient played under the Hodge-led North Texas Mean Green. Last year, Lorient was named American Athletic Conference First Team All- Conference and AAC Sixth Man of the Year. Lorient played in all 36 games, averaging 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. Lorient recorded 178 rebounds off the bench (4th most in nation) and 39 blocks off the bench (6th most in nation). Lorient scored in double figures 21 times last season, scoring a career-high 20 points twice.
Lorient spent his first two collegiate seasons at Florida Atlantic, scoring a season-high 13 points against Eastern Michigan. Lorient played in 21 games, helping Florida Atlantic reach the 2023 Final Four.

Jasper Floyd
Like Brenen Lorient, Jasper Floyd also spent last season at North Texas under Ross Hodge. The senior guard from Tampa, Fla. stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 195 pounds.
Last season, Floyd averaged 9 points, 3.9 assists, and 3 rebounds per game in his 36 starts.
West Virginia will be his fifth school in five years, after stops in Northwest Florida State College, Hillsborough College, Fairfield University, and North Texas. Floyd has only one season of eligibility remaining.
Harlan Obioha
Obioha is a 7-foot, 280-pound senior from Hoxie, Kan. Obioha played at UNC Wilmington last season.
Last year at UNCW, Obioha had 17 double-digit scoring efforts and five games with at least 10 rebounds. Moving into the starting lineup in conference play, Obioha averaged 10.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, shooting 64.8% from the field.
Obioha started his collegiate career at Niagara, starting in 31 games and playing in 32. Obioha averaged 10.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game during his sophomore season. Obioha played in 28 games his freshman year at Niagara.

DJ Thomas
Thomas is a 6-foot-7, 210-pound freshman forward from Allen, Texas who currently attends Allen High School.
During his senior year, Thomas averaged 10.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists, earning UIL 6A All-Regional honors and helping his team to the Class 6A Division I Semifinals. Thomas led Allen to The Throne National Championship game where he scored 25 points in the finals, Thomas was also named to The Throne All-Tournament Team.
