No. 14 Baylor Hands West Virginia Tennis Its Second Loss in As Many Days

The West Virginia University tennis team suffered their second of two losses on their Texas roadtrip, losing 4-0 to No. 14 Baylor at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. 

WVU (6-7, 0-2 Big 12) lost the doubles point, as their No. 2 pairing of Julie Bousseau and Tatiana Lipatova lost 6-0 to the Baylor (11-1, 2-0 Big 12) pairing of Zuzanna Kubacha and Wenfei Yu, while Millie Haagensen and Lyla Byers fell 6-2 to Sierra Berry and Na Dong. 

The Bears retained their lead to start the singles with a 6-0, 6-4 victory by Nanaka Sato over Byers in the No. 5 singles. Dong scored a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Bousseau in the No. 2 matchup. BU clinched their 4-0 win in the No. 6 spot, as Berry won 6-4, 6-4 over Susannah Su. 

Big 12 action resumes next week as WVU will play their conference home opener on Friday, March 7. at 2 p.m. against Oklahoma State at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown, W. Va.
