Mountaineers Impress on Opening Day of NCAA Diving Championships

First Day of WVU Swim Teams NCAA Zone A Diving Championships 

The entirety of the Championships will be held from March 10-12th, in Piscataway, N.J., at the Rutgers Aquatics Center. 

The Mountaineers representing were Levi Hellmann (freshman), Owen Recker (sophomore), Abigail Sullivan (junior), and Sarah Krusinski (senior).  

Men’s 1-Meter Springboard 

In the men’s 1-meter springboard event, both Hellman and Recker’s performances made them eligible for advancements to the finals. Hellmann received a score of 586.40, finishing in 12th place, while Recker finished in 18th, with a score of 542.85. 

Women’s 3-Meter Springboard 

As for Sullivan and Krusinski, Sullivan placed 29th in the preliminaries with a score of 248.90, while Krusinski accumulated a score of 239.65, placing 36th.

Looking Ahead 

The events for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships continue with events including the men’s and women’s platform diving, women’s 1-meter, and men’s 3-meter.

Tuesday, March 11 

  • 10 a.m. (women’s 1-meter prelims) 
  • Noon (men’s 3-meter prelims) 
  • 3:30 p.m. (men’s 3-meter finals) 
  • 5 p.m. (women’s 1-meter finals) 

 Wednesday, March 12 

  • 9:30 a.m. (women’s platform prelims) 
  • 11:30 a.m. (women’s platform prelims) 
  • 2 p.m. (men’s platform prelims) 
  • 4 p.m. (men’s platform finals)
