The former Mountaineer didn’t speak much at the press conference on Wednesday that highlighted the entire Wings draft class, but her first comment drew rousing applauds from the audience at Dallas City Hall.
Quinerly Creating “Havoc” On Defense
“I love defense, I love just creating havoc on that side of the ball, so I’m definitely going to do that.” – Quinerly.
Quinerly Enters Exhilarating Chapter With The Dallas Wings
Quinerly comes to Dallas at an exciting time for the Wings, as Dallas completed the largest trade in WNBA history just two months ago, where the Wings received the WNBA’s Most Improved Player in DiJonai Carrington, Tyasha Harris, as well as the No. 12 overall pick in 2025 (which was used for Aziaha James of NC State) and more.
The Dallas Wings are also moving to downtown Dallas and will play at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas Memorial Arena at the beginning of the 2026 WNBA season.

In addition, the Dallas Wings won the Draft Lottery and selected one of the best college basketball players in recent history in Paige Bueckers of UConn with the No.1 overall pick in the draft.
Wings Look Ahead To 2025 Season
The Wings are coming off a frustrating 2024 season, as they finished the season 9-31, losing 9 of their last 10 games. With an exceptional off-season, the Wings look to turn the page and have a successful season in 2025 as they kick off the regular season May 16th at home vs the Minnesota Lynx.

Quinerly’s Magnificent Career As A Mountaineer
Quinerly finished her West Virginia career with 2,016 points and is the first player in program history to finish with 2,000+ points and 300+ rebounds, steals, and assists.
During her senior season, Quinerly became the 14th individual and 14th All-American honor in West Virginia program history to obtain honorable mention status from the Associated Press an Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Quinerly stands among West Virginia’s all-time career leaders as she ranks at number 3 all-time points scored (2,016) and number 5 all-time in scoring average (16.00). Quinerly’s 20.38 points per game average during the 2024-25 season marks just the fifth time in West Virginia program history that a Mountaineer has finished a season with 20 points per game scoring average, and is the first time since the 1992 season.

Quinerly’s 328 career steals during her time at WVU rank third and her 2.6 steals average per game rank at fourth all-time.
Quinerly is just the 11th Mountaineer to be drafted to the WNBA and is the first since Kysre Gondrezick, who was selected by the Indiana Fever with the No.4 overall pick.
